Abstract
This Act requires animal owners to keep their animals secured in fences and prohibits the tethering of animals upon land without the authority of the owners or in such a way that the animals may harm cultivations, crops or trees or create nuisance in public places. No person or owner of any animal shall permit any animal to wander or trespass on any land at any time. The Act gives the owner of any land the right to shoot or destroy any animal trespassing on his or her land. The Act further provides for the appointment of animal inspectors, defines their powers and defines regulation-making powers of the High Commissioner.
