Abstract
The objective of this Plan is to strengthen the quality and safety supervision of aquaculture products, strengthen the risk warning and prevention of aquatic animal diseases, and improve the quality, safety, and biological safety level of aquaculture products.
For the monitoring of veterinary drug residues in aquatic products from the place of origin, the Plan proposes to investigate safety hazards in inputs used in aquaculture (mainly investigate the safety risks and hidden dangers of non pharmaceutical and water quality improvers sold in the market for aquaculture), and monitor and assess risks of substances such as heavy metals in aquaculture seafood and river crabs.
For the control of veterinary drug residues in aquatic products from the place of origin, the competent authorities at provincial level should continue to strengthen the supervision of drug use in aquaculture, crack down on illegal activities and investigate and punish cases of illegal drug use in accordance with the results of residual monitoring of veterinary drugs in aquatic products from the production areas; local governments should further improve the monitoring plan of production areas for veterinary drug residues in aquatic products at provincial, municipal, and county level, improve the dynamic directory database of aquaculture production units and law enforcement inspectors, and enhance law enforcement capabilities and levels, continue to monitor the drug resistance of major pathogenic bacteria in aquaculture animals, take action to reduce the use of veterinary drugs in aquaculture, and promote the use of standardized drugs in rural areas.
