Administrative Measures for Pine Wood Nematode Disease Epidemic Area and Diseased Stumps of Pine Wood Nematode.

These Measures, consisting of 28 Articles, are enacted according to the Plant Quarantine Regulations, aiming to strengthen the management of pine wood nematode disease epidemic areas and diseased wood and prevent the spread of the disease.
Pine wood nematode disease epidemic areas shall be designated, changed, canceled and announced in accordance with the relevant provisions of the “ Measures for the Administration on the National Forestry Quarantine Pest Biological Epidemic Areas” . Logging of pines in the affected counties shall be examined and approved by the local forestry authorities at or above the county level, and pine trees shall be harvested in strict accordance with the approved cutting volume and cutting range. The Measures further make provisions for the safety use of diseased stumps, inspection and quarantine, supervision and inspection, legal liabilities, etc.
