Agreement between the Government of People's Republic of China and the Government of Romania on cooperation in the field of sanitary veterinary, and animal quarantine and health.

The Agreement was reached in order to ensure an adequate protection against animal diseases and those caused by animal origin products and to reduce the risk of infectious and/or contagious and parasitic diseases in the two countries, to further develop the relations between the two countries, to facilitate the trade in goods which can influence animal health. The import, export or transit of animal-related goods should comply with the relevant quarantine protocols, meet the quarantine and health requirements of the importing country and must be accompanied by a quarantine or health certificate, issued by the competent veterinary authority of the exporting country. Article 5 establish the obligations of the competent veterinary authorities of each Contracting Party, including a) informing each other, immediately, about the diseases mentioned in list"A"of the International Office of Epizootics (OIE) which are breaking out on its national territory; b) exchanging monthly official veterinary bulletins indicating the statistics of the transmissible diseases of animals mentioned in the list "A" and list "B" of OIE.
