Agreement on cooperation between the government of the People's Republic of China and the government of the People's Republic of Mongolia on the protection of the natural environment.

The contracting parties shall establish and develop cooperation in the field of natural environmental protection on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
The cooperative areas may include: Research and implement techniques and methods for controlling quicksand and soil weathering and erosion; Research and implementation of techniques and methods for the cultivation of trees, shrubs and other vegetation in the Gobi region and the elimination of pests; Jointly study Gobi and grassland pastures and formulate measures for their protection and rational utilization; Formulate and implement measures for the protection, research, reproduction, and rational use of yellow sheep and other wild animals and plants in the border areas; Research, monitor, prevent, mitigate and eliminate the pollution of the natural environment, especially the air, water and soil pollution in the adjacent areas. Research and formulate technologies and methods to prevent the depletion of surface water resources; establishment of nature reserves and sanctuaries in the border areas and investigations and experiments in these areas; etc.
