Agreement on Maritime Search and Rescue Cooperation between the Government of Japan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China

To ensure the safety of life at sea and further improve the efficiency of maritime search and rescue activities, the two Parties agrees to cooperate in the sphere of maritime search and rescue. When any Contracting party receives a alert from any person or ship, urgent steps shall be taken to ensure that the person and ship shall be provided with necessary assistance regardless of their nationality, status and condition.
