Announcement of the General Administration of Customs on the Requirements for Storage and Transportation of Imported Bulk Edible Vegetable Oil (Announcement No. 147 of the General Administration of Customs in 2025).

This Announcement is issued by China’s General Administration of Customs in accordance with the Customs Law and the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, and with reference to the Codex Alimentarius Commission’s Code of Practice for the Storage and Transport of Edible Fats and Oils in Bulk (CXC 36), aiming to further strengthen the full chain supervision of imported edible vegetable oil, standardize and enhance the storage and transportation management of imported bulk edible vegetable oil. The Announcement specifies hygiene and container reuse restrictions, and requires documentation of previous cargoes. It emphasizes the use of inert, food-safe materials—preferably stainless steel—for storage and transport containers and prohibits copper and its alloys.
