Abstract
The Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for Chinese Medicinal Materials are established by China’s National Medical Products Administration, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine to enhance the quality and traceability of Chinese medicinal materials.
This GAP is the basic requirement for standardized production and quality management of Chinese medicinal materials. It is applicable to the whole process management of Chinese medicinal materials production by Chinese medicinal materials production enterprises using planting (including ecological planting, wild cultivation and simulated wild cultivation) and breeding methods. The harvesting and processing of wild Chinese medicinal materials may refer to this specification. The GAP provides a structured approach to cultivating, processing, and testing medicinal materials. This includes stringent controls on seeds, soil quality, pesticide use, and harvest methods to ensure medicinal efficacy and safety.
