Abstract
This Circular is issued in accordance with the Wildlife Protection Law and the Regulations on the Implementation of Terrestrial Wildlife Protection, aiming to to strengthen the import and export management of endangered wild species, fulfill corresponding international obligations, and link the protection and management of domestic wild animals with the protection of endangered species.
It is decided to approve all wild animals listed in Appendix I and Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.that are not native to China (such as rhinoceros, crab-eating macaques, kangaroos, ostriches, African elephants, zebras, etc.) as national first-class and national second-class protected wild animals respectively. The management of these wild animals and their products (including any identifiable parts or their derivatives) shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of the current laws, regulations and rules of the country; those who violate the relevant provisions shall also be investigated and dealt with in accordance with the law.
