Cross-Strait Food Safety Agreement.

In order to increase communication and mutual trust concerning cross-strait food safety, and thereby safeguard the health and safety of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the Straits Exchange Foundation and the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait reached the agreement concerning the matter of cross-strait food safety.
The two parties agreed to notify each other of information concerning food safety in cross-strait trade, and to perform prompt notification of food safety information and unexpected incidents affecting the health of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The two parties shall promptly respond to and provide necessary assistance concerning inquiries.
