Abstract
These Provisions, consisting of 20 Articles, aim to protect environment, prevent and control environmental pollution caused by tailings.
The term "tailings" as mentioned in these Provisions refers to the waste generated in the process of ore dressing and wet smelting.
Enterprises that produce tailings shall, in accordance with the relevant provisions, apply to the local environmental protection administrative department for the registration of the discharge of pollutants. The tailings produced by the enterprises shall be discharged into the tailings treatment. Measures preventing leakage must be taken for the storage of tailings which contain hazardous wastes.
