Decree No. 47 of the State Forestry Administration promulgating the Measures for the Sheltering and Rescue of Wild Animals.

These Measures, consisting of 16 articles, are enacted in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Wildlife Protection and other relevant laws and regulations, aiming to regulate the sheltering and rescue of wild animals.
For the purpose of these Measures, “wild animals” means terrestrial wild animals protected by law. The State Forestry Administration is responsible for organizing, guiding and supervising wildlife sheltering and rescue work throughout the country. The trade of wild animals and their products in the name of sheltering and rescue shall be prohibited. The competent forestry departments of the local people's governments at or above the county level shall, in accordance with the relevant provisions, specify the institutions for the sheltering and rescue of wild animals, guarantee the personnel and funds, and strengthen the sheltering and rescue work. Wild animal sheltering and rescue institutions should conduct inspection and quarantine on wild animals sheltered and rescued in accordance with the relevant technical specifications, and treat the injured or sick wild animals.
