Decree No.35 of the State Environmental Protection Administration promulgating the Measures for the Disclosure of Environmental Information (for Trial Implementation).

These Measures provide for the scope, procedures and responsibilities of environmental information disclosure, aiming at promoting and regulating the disclosure of environmental information, maintaining the rights and interests of citizens, legal persons and other organizations to access environmental information, and promoting the participation into environmental protection by the general public. Environmental information herein referred to includes environmental information released by the government and enterprises.
Environmental protection administrative departments shall make government environmental information public in a timely and correct manner based on the principle of equity, fairness, convenience and objectivity. Enterprises shall make public their environmental information in a timely and correct manner according to the principle that provides voluntary and mandatory information disclosure respectively. Citizens, legal entities and other organizations can request for environmental information to environmental protection administrative departments.
