This Implementation Plan for the Major Projects of Revitalizing and Developing Traditional Chinese Medicine is a sectoral policy document at national level, covering the period of 2023-2025. The overal objectives are: By 2025, the construction of a high-quality and efficient traditional Chinese medicine service system will be accelerated, the level of disease prevention and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine will be significantly improved, the ability to integrate traditional Chinese and Western medicine services will be significantly enhanced, the innovation ability of traditional Chinese medicine technology will be significantly improved, the team of high-quality traditional Chinese medicine talents will gradually grow, the quality of traditional Chinese medicine will continue to improve, and the culture of traditional Chinese medicine will be vigorously promoted.
One of the major projects proposed in the Plan is the Traditional Chinese Medicine Quality Improvement and Industry Promotion Project. The specific objectives of this project inclue: (1) Quality improvement of traditional Chinese medicine seed sector. The collection, preservation, identification and evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine germplasm resources, as well as the ability to select and breed excellent varieties, will be further improved, the large-scale promotion and application of high-quality seeds and seedlings, and the monitoring ability of traditional Chinese medicine resources will be significantly improved; （2） Standardized cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine. The production layout of authentic medicinal materials will be further optimized, breakthroughs will be made in the artificial breeding technology of rare and endangered Chinese medicinal materials, further promoting the sustainable utilization of Chinese medicinal resources; etc.
