Measures for administration of edible fungus strains.

These Measures aim to protect and rationally utilize edible fungi germplasm resources, and standardize the edible fungus breeding and the production, business operation, use and management of strains. The Text consists of 6 Chapters: General provisions (I); Germplasm resources protection and selective breeding of varieties (II); Production and management of edible fungus strains (III); Quality of edible fungus strains (IV); International trade management (V); Supplementary Provisions (VI).
The State protects the edible fungi germplasm resources, no entity or individual may seize and destroy. The State encourages and supports entities and individuals to engage in the breeding and development of edible fungus varieties. Entities and individuals shall obtain the licenses for production and operation of edible fungus strains before being engaged in the production and operation of strains. In order to be engaged in the import and export of strains, entities shall also obtain the import and export qualifications. The competent agriculture authorities of the people's governments at or above the county level may entrust the quality inspection institutions to check the quality of the strains.
