Abstract
These Measures are formulated tIn order to strengthen the inspection and quarantine management of entry and exit genetically modified products, protect human health and the safety of animals, plants and microorganisms, and protect the ecological environment. The General Administration of Customs shall be responsible for the inspection and quarantine management of entry and exit genetically modified products nationwide (art. 4). Genetically modified products may enter the country after submitting a Certificate of Safety of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms and the Document of Examination, Certification and Approval of the Marks of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms (Chapter II). Chapter III specifies the documents needed for permission of passing through the territory of China with genetically modified products. Genetically modification testing for products exiting the territory is discussed in Chapter IV.
