Measures of Zhejiang Province for the administration of forest tree harvesting.

These Measures, consisting of 30 articles, aim to strengthen the forest tree harvesting administration, effectively protect, cultivate, and rationally utilize forest resources. People's governments at or above the county level shall strengthen their leadership over the work of forest resources protection and management, and supervise the implementation of the quota management system for forest cutting. The annual forest cutting quota is formulated once in five years. The establishment of forest cutting quota shall follow the principle that the consumption amount of forest is lower than that of growth, and meet the requirements of the technical regulations. In order to cut trees, entities and individuals shall apply for the tree cutting licenses from the competent forestry administration department of the people's government at or above the county level. Precious trees shall be protected according to law.
