Abstract
This National “12th Five-Year Plan” for Ecological Protection is a sectoral policy document for the period of 2011-2015. The Plan sets up the main objectives: By 2015, the level of ecological environment supervision will be significantly improved, the declining trend of biodiversity in key areas will be curbed, the construction and supervision level of nature reserves will be significantly improved, national key ecological functional areas will be effectively protected, and the trend of ecological environment deterioration will be preliminarily reversed.
To achieve the above main objectives, key tasks are proposesd in the Plan, including: Improve the construction and supervision level of nature reserves; strengthen the protection of national and regional ecological functions; Deepen the construction and management of ecological construction demonstration zones; Strengthen biodiversity conservation through strengthening the regulation of priority areas, enhancing the protection and regulation of biological species resources, deepening biosafety management, promoting compliance and international cooperation; etc.
