Abstract
This National Food Safety Standard - Canned Foods (GB 7098 -2025) is issued by China's National Health Commission and State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Food Safety Law. It is a mandatory standard. It supersedes the National Food Safety Standard - Canned Foods (GB 7098 -2015). It applies to canned foods, excluding canned complementary foods for infants and young children.
The Standard specifies sensory requirements, physicochemical indicators, raw material requirements, requirements for food additives and food nutritional enhancers, etc. It also provides for microbiological limits and limits for contaminants and fungi toxins.
