Abstract
This Standard specifies the basic hygiene requirements and management rules for food irradiation processing, including requirements for irradiation equipment, irradiation processing process, personnel, and records. The Standard is applicable to the irradiation processing of food.
The Standard is a compulsory standard.
Food irradiation is not a substitute for hygienic control or good manufacturing practice in food production and processing, and it can only be used when it is a reasonable process requirement or beneficial to the health of consumers. Irradiation processing shall not be used to process inferior and unqualified food.
