Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on Doing a Good Job in the Supervision and Management of New Coronavirus Infected Pneumonia Medical Wastewater and Urban Wastewater.

This Notice is developed to effectively respond to the pneumonia epidemic of the new coronavirus infection, further strengthen the supervision and management of medical sewage and urban sewage, and prevent the spread of new coronavirus through sewage.
The Notice requests the competent authorities to strengthen the supervision of medical sewage disposal in rural areas, and guide and urge health centers (institutions) to take special measures for sterilization and disinfection to prevent the spread of viruses through medical sewage. The discharge of medical sewage into farmland irrigation channels is prohibited.
The Notice further requests to strengthen the protection of drinking water sources, do a good job of water quality monitoring, and ensure that drinking water sources are not contaminated. On-site supervision and inspection of sewage collection and treatment in key places such as farmers' markets, bazaars, supermarkets, etc., shall be trengthened.
