Abstract
According to the China-Thailand SPS Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 12, 2004, this Agreement was reached on the inspection and quarantine and sanitary conditions for the importation of frozen crocodile meat from the Kingdom of Thailand to the People’s Republic of China.
The Thai side shall be responsible for inspection and quarantine and issuing a health certificate for crocodile meat to be exported to China. Each year, the Thai side provides China with a summary report on its annual pesticide and veterinary drug residue and toxic and hazardous substance residue monitoring plan and its implementation details, residue monitoring report, and pathogenic microorganism monitoring plan and its implementation details. The crocodile meat exported to China should be transported in a container to ensure that the crocodile meat is free from any contamination as required by this Protocol. The Agreement further provides for the conditions to be satisfied for crocodiles used to produce crocodile meat for export to China, functions to be performed by Thai official veterinarians, etc.
