Abstract
These Provisions are formulated in accordance with the Food Safety Law and its Implementation Regulations, aiming to standardize the catalogue management of substances that are both traditional food and traditional Chinese medicine.
The substances included in the Catalogue of Substances that are Both Food and Traditional Chinese Medicine shall meet the following requirements: (1) there is the habit of eating such substances as food traditionally; 2 It has been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia; 3 No food safety problems have been found in the safety assessment; 4 Comply with relevant laws and regulations on the protection of Chinese herbal medicine resources, wildlife protection, ecological protection, etc. The use of such substances by food producers and business operators shall comply with the relevant provisions of national laws, regulations, food safety standards. Product labels thereof should not claim to have health care functions or involve disease prevention and treatment functions.
