Abstract
China's south-to-north water diversion project, the world's largest, is designed to take water from the Yangtze river through eastern, middle and western routes to feed dry areas in the north. The major parts of the eastern route are located in the provinces of Jiangsu and Shandong. The purpose of these Regulations is to strengthen the water use and supply administration of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, give full play to the Project’s economic, social and ecological benefits. The text consists of 58 Articles divided into 7 Chapters: General provisions (I); Engineering management(II); Water dispatching (III); Administration of water use (IV); Water quality protection(V); Legal liabilities (VI); and Supplementary provisions (VII).
