Abstract
The Regulations are enacted to strengthen wetland protection, maintain wetland ecological functions and biodiversity, promote the sustainable use of wetland resources, and build an ecological security barrier. The Text is divided into 6 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Planing of Wetlands (II); Protection of Wetlands (III); Supervision and Inspection (IV); Legal Responsibility (V); Supplementary Provisions (VI).
The competent forestry authorities of the people's governments at or above the county level shall, in conjunction with relevant departments, conduct dynamic monitoring of the ecological status of the wetlands and take effective measures to maintain the ecological functions and biodiversity of the wetlands. Wetland nature reserves shall be established in wetlands that meet one of the conditions prescribed in Article 18.
