Abstract
The purpose of these Regulations is to enhance food safety awareness, responsibility, and risk management among enterprises, thereby preventing food safety incidents and significant public relations risks.
If an enterprise has any of the following food safety hazards or problems as prescribed in Article 7, and fails to take effective measures to eliminate them in a timely manner, interviews may be conducted: (1) Failure to establish sound or strictly implement food safety management systems; (2) Discovering food safety issues or hidden dangers during supervision, inspection, and sampling monitoring; (3) Reports from relevant departments, media, etc. regarding food safety issues; (4) Failure to promptly handle food safety complaints and reports, which is confirmed to be true; (5) Other situations that require an interview. The Regulations further define the process for conducting interviews. During the interview, the enterprise must prepare written materials addressing the basic situation, main issues, cause analysis, and proposed corrective measures. Enterprises are required to rectify any identified issues within a specified timeframe and report back to the interview unit. The Regulations also emphasize the importance of maintaining records related to the interviews and corrective actions in the enterprise's food safety credit file. Overall, these Regulations aim to ensure that food production and business operation enterprises adhere to food safety laws and effectively manage risks associated with food safety.
