Regulations of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture on the protection of forest resources.

These Regulations are enacted in accordance with the Regional National Autonomy Law and the Forestry Law in order to protect forest resources, maintain ecological balance, and develop forestry production. The Regulations contain 42 Articles.
The people's governments at all levels should formulate the development plan of forestry. The competent forestry authorities should regularly carry out investigation of forest resources, implement forest resources monitoring and supervision work. The people's government at the county level shall issue the mountain forest right certificates for state-owned mountain forests and collective mountain forests and hilly land alloted for private use. In the area of scenic spots, natural landscape and forest resources with conservation value, the nature reserves shall be established and approved by the county people's government. The Regulations further provide for the measures to be taken for supervision and inspection, offences and penalties.
