Abstract
These Codes are formulated to guide citizens to fulfill their obligations and responsibilities to protect the ecological environment.
The Codes include ten Articles covering the following aspects: caring for the ecological environment, saving energy and resources, practicing green consumption, choosing low-carbon travel, sorting out garbage, reducing pollution, caring for natural ecology, participating in environmental protection practices, participating in environmental supervision, and jointly building a beautiful China. The citizens are supposed to: timely understand ecological and environmental policies, regulations, and information, learn and master scientific knowledge and techniques in environmental pollution control, biodiversity protection, and climate change response; dissuade, stop, expose, and report behaviors that pollute the environment, damage ecology, and waste food; actively participate in voluntary tree planting, do not buy or use rare wildlife products, refuse to eat rare wildlife; etc.
