Decree-Law No. 47/2021 approving the General Bases for the concession of the management, exploration and distribution of water resources for irrigation.

This Decree-Law approves the General Bases for the concession of the management, exploration and distribution of water resources for irrigation, pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 3/2015 of 19 October, which approves the Water and Sanitation Code. The General Bases, consisting of four Chapters and one Table, aim at specifying the purpose of the concession is the service of management, exploration and distribution of water resources for irrigation of "Água de Rega (AdR), Sociedade Unipessoal, SA". The concession lasts for ten years and the grantor has the right to suspend the concession period in the event of an emergency. For the period in which the suspension takes place, the obligations of the concessionaire designated in the concession contract are also suspended. The concession to AdR comprises the management, exploration and distribution of water for irrigation defined in the scope of the concession contract. The concession to AdR covers the entire national territory under the terms of the concession contract.
