Abstract
This Decree-Law, consisting of 4 Chapters, regulates National Cartography Production (except for military and hydrographic purposes). Control on this activity will be performed by competent authorities. Cartography plays an increasingly important role in modern societies, constituting an essential support for the development of planning, spatial planning and management activities, the preservation and enhancement of natural and heritage resources and the promotion and management of economic and social activities.
