Decree-Law No. 62/2021 establishing the macro-structure, organization and operating rules of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing (MIOTH).

This Decree-Law establishes the macro-structure, organization and operating rules of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing (MIOTH). MIOTH is responsible for: planning, studying, proposing, executing and coordinating policy in the sectors it covers; developing, implementing, keeping up to date and evaluating national strategies in all the areas it oversees; promoting the study and drafting of Cape Verde's Strategic Transport and Infrastructure Plan (PETI-CV); developing the PNOTU and the PNH, including urban rental and social housing and supporting the conservation and rehabilitation of buildings; promoting the development of coastal planning instruments, their integrated management and the sustainable use of coastal resources; developing a sustainable building policy that contributes to making the national territorial development model more efficient, intelligent and resilient; promoting cartography, geodesy and land registry; participating in the implementation of national environmental policy, in terms of basic sanitation infrastructure, in close collaboration with the various Central, Regional and Local Administration services, etc.
