Decree-Law No. 9/2025 regulating the legal and fiscal relations that generate the obligation to pay fees due to the State, through the Forestry Service or local delegations of the government department responsible for the Forestry Area, for the various operations inherent in the procedures related to the pursuit of forestry policy and the respective supervision.

This Decree-Law regulates the legal and fiscal relations that generate the obligation to pay fees owed to the State, through the Forestry Service or local delegations of the government department responsible for the Forestry Area, for the various operations inherent in the procedures related to the pursuit of forestry policy and respective supervision. It also establishes the provisions regarding the collection, settlement and payment of the fees referred above. These fees are levied on services provided to private individuals, namely: a) Reforestation in the event of the clearing of forest land subject to the forestry regime, including: i. Technical analysis and feasibility of the request; ii. Reforestation in the event of authorization to clear forest land. b) Authorization to harvest woody material on State land subject to the forestry regime, including: i. Logging; and ii. Pruning; c) Authorizing charcoal production activities on State land subject to the forestry regime, including: i. Technical and feasibility analysis of the application; ii. Authorization of the charcoal production activity; d) For the use of plots in forest areas for agriculture and livestock on State land subject to the forestry regime, including: i. Plots used for agriculture; ii. Plots used for livestock farming.
