Abstract
This Decree approves the Agreement on Food Security between the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Spanish Food Security Co-Financing Facility Trust Fund and the Government of the Republic of Cape Verde for the co-financed project for the promotion of rural socio-economic opportunities (POSER) within the islands of Brava, Fogo, Maio, Santo Antão, São Nicolau, Santiago and São Vicente in the Republic of Cape Verde. This Agreement, signed in Rome on 29 October 2012 in French, and consisting of 5 Sections and 3 Annexes, establishes the requirements to be satisfied in order to benefit from this project, which main objectives are: improve the living conditions or rural populations. The specific objective of the Programme is to improve the food security within rural areas, to increase the income of rural populations, through the creation of sustainable economic opportunities within rural areas, in particular to facilitate the long-term use for rural poor women and young people within the intervention areas of the Programme and Development Community Associations members (ACD). Around 41.020 households for a total of 205.000 beneficiaries.
