Abstract
The Institute for Fishing Development (IDEPE) is responsible for: (a) planning, implementation of projects and programmes on the development of artisanal fishing; (b) promoting knowledge of adequate technologies in order to increase artisanal fishing production; (c) maintenance and repairing of fishing equipment; (d) guaranteeing the supply of fishing equipment; (e) assistance to the organization of artisanal fishermen; (f) cooperating on the research and the promotion of credit.
