Abstract
The National Institute for Fishing Research is responsible for promoting and developing scientific research in the fishing sector. In particular, it is responsible for: (a) the permanent evaluation of fisheries resources; (b) the promotion of studies for technological improvements; (c) the promotion of studies for improving processing and conservation methods of fish products; (d) cooperation with similar institutes; (e) establishing and proposing sanitary and quality standards; (f) administration of scientific and technical information of the sector.
