Abstract
This Joint Order approves the Coastal Zone Management Plan and adjacent Sea (POOC_ M) for the island of Brava. The POOC_M covers the entire coastline of the island of Brava, integrating a land zone and an adjacent maritime zone. The land zone corresponds to a strip 1,500 meters wide measured from the high tide line, measured horizontally towards the land, while the adjacent maritime zone corresponds to a strip 3 nautical miles wide measured from the topographic zero, measured horizontally towards the sea. The land zone referred to in the previous paragraph may be reduced, upon presentation of justification, but may not be less than 500 meters. The purpose of coastal and adjacent sea planning is to regulate the criteria for the occupation and implementation of infrastructure, the safeguarding and protection of territorial, environmental, and heritage resources and values, and to guide the use of identified marine resources.
