Order No. No. 45/2024 approving the Detailed Management Plan Maio III.

This Order establishes the Detailed Management Plan for Maio III (PODMAIO III) as part of the duly approved Tourism Management Plan (POT) for the Tourist Development Zone in the south of Vila do Maio. Due to the specific nature and environmental sensitivity of its location, it includes buffer zones, extensive theme parks, green protection and framing zones. The POD falls into the category of Special Territorial Planning Plans, as it is a detailed plan of the options defined by the POT, in order to materialize in the territory the specific designs and projects adopted for the development of tourism in the legally constituted Integral Tourism Development Zones, with a view to guaranteeing the quality of the tourist offer, urban integration based on a harmony between the conservation and preservation of the biodiversity existing in the place and its sustainable exploitation. The purpose of this regulation is the urban planning of the intervention area delimited by the Detailed Planning Plan for the Southern ZDTI of Town of Maio, known as “POD-Maio III”, establishing rules for the use and occupation of land, as well as the management of infrastructures, tourist areas, leisure and environmental protection.
