Abstract
This Regulatory Decree, consisting of 24 articles divided into six Chapters and one Annex, regulates commercial free-diving and scuba diving fishing, performed by national natural or legal persons throughout the national territory and in other maritime areas under national jurisdiction, in order to ensure the health and safety of fishers. It aims at benefiting more of the exploitation of fishery resources, combating illegal, unregulated and undeclared fishing in national maritime waters, and regulating the commercial diving activity in order to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the country's economic and social development policy. In addition, it also aims at the conservation of species and their sustainable exploitation, regulating equipment and safety, as well as licensing, fees, and restrictions, under the General Regime for the management of fishing activities within the national maritime waters and on the high seas, approved by Legislative Decree No. 2/2020 of 19 May.
Entry into force notes
This Regulatory Decree enters into force 30 days after its publication.
