Abstract
This Regulatory Decree approves the Statutes of the Cape Verdean Institute for Children and Adolescents (ICCA). The ICCA is the public body responsible for promoting and implementing policies for children and adolescents, as well as protecting and defending their rights before any public or private entity, within the limits of the Law. The ICCA guides its conduct by the principles enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic, in international instruments for the protection of children and adolescents, in particular with regard to supervising, coordinating and executing activities and projects for the special protection of children and adolescents in situations of personal and social danger, namely involving situations of neglect, abandonment, mistreatment, child labour, sexual abuse or exploitation, among others.
