Abstract
This Regulatory Decree approves the Statute of the Autonomous Fisheries Fund (FAP). Through Decree-Law No. 27/2018 of 24 May, which established the structure, organization and operation of the Ministry of Maritime Economy, the Government created the Autonomous Fisheries Fund essentially aiming to ensure the development and sustainability of the fishing sector in Cape Verde. The Statute, consisting of 19 articles divided into five Chapters, specifies that the FAP is an Autonomous Fund, endowed with administrative and financial autonomy, operating under the responsibility of the government department responsible for fisheries. The FAP aims to financially ensure the full development of the fisheries sector, ensuring the necessary security, increasing production and its value, improving the living conditions of fishing communities, training human resources and increasing jobs in this sector.
