Abstract
This Resolution creates the Interministerial Commission for the Cross-cutting Gender Approach. The Gender Commission is a consultative and monitoring body for the effective mainstreaming of the gender approach in public policies and programmes with the government department responsible for gender inclusion. The purposes of the Gender Commission are: a) Follow up and evaluate the measures outlined in the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PEDS), and in the sectors and National Gender Policies; b) Promote Gender Equality through its members acting as gender focal points; and c) Reinforce the effective participation of the various sectors and actors involved in the materialization of the mainstreaming of the gender approach in public policies. The competences of the Gender Commission aims at monitoring the implementation of the international commitments assumed by the country in terms of Gender Equality and women's rights, namely through the Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women (CEDAW).
