Abstract
This Resolution approves the Communication Plan for the Climate Action Programme, regulating Cape Verde and the media, the assumptions of the communication plan, the objectives, the methodology and strategy, the actors and target audiences, the initiatives, tables, calendar, as well as budget estimate. The Plan aims to increase the knowledge of Cape Verdean citizens about climate change, both in terms of what the causes and consequences of the phenomenon are, and in terms of what the country and the government are doing to mitigate its causes and consequences.
The communication plan has the general objective of supporting Cape Verde's climate strategy, in accordance with the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and National Adaptation Plan (NAP), increasing society's resilience awareness, and thus involving and empowering it to be a growing and permanent part of the set of solutions for a country increasingly better adapted to climate change. Its specific objectives are: Respond to the various objectives, challenges and opportunities reflected in the country's main strategic documents, such as the NDC, NAP, Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PEDSII) and Ambition 2030; Raise awareness and mobilize civil society in relation to the climate issue; Promote initiatives that integrate a multiplicity of target audiences, from civil society, in particular vulnerable groups, to all types of sectoral entities, public and private; Facilitate cooperation, coordination and synergy between different stakeholders; Integrate innovation and ancestral knowledge, through the meeting of generations; Support training, exchange and replication of learning knowledge; Promote the results of demonstration projects at national and local level; and Implement a visual identity for climate action.
