Resolution No. 58/2022 approving the Policy on National Territorial Cohesion.

This Resolution approves the Policy on National Territorial Cohesion, aiming at promoting the integrated development and evolution of the country, based on a policy of valuing the peculiarities of each island. In particular, the Policy aims, through the coordination and implementation of transversal policies, to reduce regional asymmetries in terms of the provision of public services (administration, education, health and others), to reduce poverty rates and to create economic opportunities. and social initiatives that promote the convergence of all municipalities and all islands with the Sustainable Development Goals. The achievement of this macro objective of the National Territorial Cohesion Policy will necessarily imply the implementation of a set of intermediate objectives, namely: a) Reform the current model of Territorial Governance; b) Promote Social Cohesion; c) Promote Territorial Competitiveness; d) Order the Territory; e) Valuing Territorial Resources; and e) Encouraging Environmental Sustainability (see Fig. I). terms of the provision of public services (administration, education, health and others), the reduction of poverty rates and the creation of economic and social opportunities that promote the convergence of all municipalities and all islands with the Sustainable Development Goals.
