Abstract
This Resolution aims to define competences, composition and modus operandi of the Interministerial Council for the Sustainable System (CISAS). The CISAS is an interdisciplinary decision-making body created to promote the discussion, formulation, implementation and validation of public policies related to the promotion of the sustainable food system.
In particular, the CISAS is responsible to: a) Coordinate efforts and policies related to food production, distribution, access, consumption and environmental issues associated with agriculture, fishing and food; b) Defining priorities in terms of Food and Nutrition Security (FNS), with a view to responding to needs and emergencies; c) Approve policies and strategies on FNS and coordinate their implementation in an integrated manner with all stakeholders; d) Provide financial and human resources, prioritizing the implementation of FNS policies; e) Encourage the articulation of public, economic and social policies aimed at promoting and guaranteeing FNS; f) Approve the recommendations made by the National Food and Nutrition Security Council (CNSAN) on FNS matters; g) Approve food crisis situations based on evidence produced by the National Food and Nutrition Security Information System; h) Approve the operational mechanisms for basic assistance, especially food assistance; and i) Collaborate and liaise with all national and international services and organisations in the field of FNS.
