Abstract
This Resolution creates the Steering Committee of the Large Marine Ecosystems of the Canary Currents Project (CCLME). CCLME aims to review the trend of degradation of marine ecosystems, caused by over-fishing, habitat modification and changes in water quality. The Steering Committee objective aims to ensure the articulation of sectoral policies, prepare proposals and programmes of activities that contribute to the development of these policies, strengthen cooperation between internal public and private entities and organizations, of civil society in the field of the CCLME project. The Committee is responsible for: a) Support national participation in the project implementation process, in an integrated and intersectoral approach; b) Appreciate, propose improvements and technically validate the project's annual work plan; c) Facilitate the availability of data necessary for the implementation of the project; d) Support the Government in the follow-up and promotion of project activities and achievements; e) Assist in the preparation, approval and adoption of strategic planning instruments relating to fisheries and the conservation of marine ecosystems; f) Ensure that information regarding national and regional project activities is communicated in an appropriate manner to all concerned parties.
