Abstract
The Action Plan of the National Antibiotic Program of the Czech Republic for the period 2019-2022 aims to address the issue of antibiotic resistance through a comprehensive set of measures. It builds on the activities of the previous national action plan from 2011-2013 and is structured around three main pillars: (1) Improving Awareness: Enhancing understanding of the state of antibiotic resistance and antibiotic consumption. (2) Control and Prevention: Implementing strategies to monitor and prevent antibiotic resistance. (3) Support for Research: Promoting scientific research and development related to antibiotics.
The plan outlines specific goals and activities to be carried out, including the establishment of a methodological infrastructure, responsible use of antibiotics, and preventive measures to control infections. It emphasizes the importance of collaboration among healthcare providers and the community to maintain the effectiveness of antibiotics and limit the spread of resistance Additionally, the document highlights the significance of monitoring antibiotic consumption in both human and veterinary medicine, aiming to develop systems for better data analysis and benchmarking practices across different sectors.
