Abstract
This Act lays down conditions for business activities which are important for consumer protection as regards sale of goods and provision of services including prohibition of unfair commercial practices, alternative resolution of consumer disputes, information database about consumer´s solvency and trustworthiness, the tasks of government authorities in the area of consumer protection, and the rights of consumers, associations of consumers, and other legal entities established with the purpose of protecting consumers.
The present Act is composed of the following parts: (1) Introductory provisions; (2) Duties related to the sale of products and provision of services; (3) Extrajudicial resolution of consumer disputes; (4) procedure of the Czech trade inspection authority and authorized subject during the extrajudicial resolution of consumer disputes; (5) Consumer information database and consumer credibility; (6) Tasks of public administration; (7) Consumer associations and other legal entities established for consumer protection; (8) Joint and final provisions.
