Abstract
This Decree of the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture lays down measures to prevent and control groundwater pollution, implements the relevant European Union regulations and lays down: (a) method of defining hydrogeological zones and defining groundwater bodies; (b) method of assessment of groundwater state; (c) details on survey programs and assessment of groundwater. The present Decree is composed of 21 articles divided into the following Sections: Introductory provisions (Sec. 1); Definition of hydrogeological zones and definition of groundwater bodies (Sec. 2); Assessment of groundwater state (Sec. 3); Details on the program for the assessment of groundwater state (Sec. 4). Annex 1 provides quality standards and the method of determining thresholds. Annex 3 defines the procedure for assessing the chemical status of groundwater bodies. Annex 5 describes quality assessment procedures of groundwater. Annex 6 specifies the list of hydrogeological zones and groundwater bodies.
