Abstract
This Act sets forth the legislative framework on fisheries. It establishes provisions concerning fish farming, performance of fishing rights, inspection on fishing activities and protection of marine fishing resources. Further provisions deal with competences of State institutions in the field of fisheries and penalties to be applied in case of infringement.

The Act enters into force on 1 April 2004, except for articles 6, 26, 27, 28 and 29, which come into force on the day of entry into force of the Act of accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union.
