Abstract
The NIP includes a comprehensive action plan that addresses both short-term (up to 3 years) and long-term (up to 10 years) activities related to the management of POPs. Key objectives include assessing and reducing releases from landfills, managing contaminated sites, enhancing public awareness and education on POPs, and ensuring effective monitoring and reporting of POPs. The plan emphasizes the importance of collaboration among various ministries and stakeholders to achieve these goals. Specific tasks outlined in the NIP include assessing the entry of POPs into soil, establishing waste management procedures to minimize POPs release, and implementing educational campaigns to raise public awareness. The document also highlights the need for continuous reporting and cooperation among relevant authorities to ensure the effective implementation of the plan.
The plan is designed in 4 Parts as follow: Introduction (1); Assessment of POPs in the Czech Republic (2); Strategies and action plans of the National Implementation Plan (3); and Suggestions for further development, capacity building and priorities (4).
